Evidence-based communication
Clinics positioning cell-based treatments as miracle products or claiming cures for serious conditions are not credible, pose a public health and safety risk, and are not acceptable practice.
Treatment claims must be based on accepted scientific evidence and medical experience, with data available to substantiate each claim.
- Subjective patient testimonials are not a reasonable substitute for objective medical follow-up.
- Claims should provide a reasonable balance between positive and non-positive patient results.
- Data supporting a claim should be based on long-term patient follow-up.
- Safety claims should be based at least on data collected through an established adverse-event grading scale.
- Outcome claims should be based on an established and accepted grading scale for the indication treated.
- All safety and outcome data should be validated by an independent third-party organization before publication.
- Whenever possible, patient data should be independently collected and managed in a treatment registry.
