Minimum expectations
Clinics and practitioners must meet a baseline before being considered for ICMS accreditation. These requirements are framed around legal status, laboratory quality, consent, patient candidacy, physician qualifications, review, truthful outcomes language, and adult somatic progenitor cells.
- Treatment is considered the practice of medicine, is within the legal and regulatory statutes of the country where provided, or is approved by the appropriate agencies.
- Any clinical laboratory that isolates, processes, or cultures cells for placement by a physician is accredited by ICMS.
- Each patient receives, understands, agrees to, and signs an ICMS-approved informed consent form before treatment.
- Each patient is graded as a candidate for treatment and receives a copy of that grading before treatment.
- Every treating physician is a Doctor of Medicine certified or eligible for certification by a recognized medical board in the relevant treatment area.
- When appropriate, treatment protocols and outcome guidelines are reviewed and authorized by an IRB, ethics board, or local equivalent.
- No guarantees are made regarding outcomes, and all outcome or safety statements are based on accepted medical knowledge.
- The progenitor cells used in treatment are adult somatic cells.
